Greg Anglly has been part of the game of lacrosse for nearly 43 years. Born and raised in New Jersey, Greg spent his youngest years at Boonton High School with “Uncle” Dick Rizk – a lacrosse coaching legend and Hall of Famer. His love for the game took him to Wake Forest University where he was the starting goalie for 4 years and captain of the team his Junior and Senior season. After college, Greg moved to San Francisco where he was fortunate to get the head coaching job at St Ignatius College Prep. In his 8 years at SI, Greg‘s teams went a combined 127-11 claiming multiple state titles and became the first “west coast” lacrosse team to be ranked by Inside Lacrosse Magazine. Gregand his coaching staff changed the landscape of West Coast Lacrosse.
Greg started the Alcatraz Outlaws – widely regarded as the premier lacrosse club on the west coast. In the first 5 years, The Outlaws assisted over 80 young men realize their dreams of playing D1 or D3 lacrosse. Greg has been recognized by US Lacrosse as the California Coach of the Year, West Coast Man of the Year and has been asked to present at the US Lacrosse Coaches Convention and annually at the California Lacrosse Coaches convention. Gregstarted a lacrosse program at The Urban School of San Francisco in 2012 and that program has continued to grow long after his departure. After moving to Virginia Beach, Greg served as an Asst Coach at Cape Henry Collegiate, pausing briefly to follow his son’s baseball career. He is now officiating games in the Hampton Roads area and works with individual players on skill development. His passion for the game is only surpassed for his desire to help young men achieve their goal of playing college lacrosse.
